Julie Alonso, M.D. is a board-certified General, Child & Adolescent and Forensic Psychiatrist. She has extensive experience performing Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and consulting on legal cases as a forensic mental health expert. She has worked on a wide array of criminal and civil cases including performing records reviews, report writing, depositions and testifying in court. She has knowledge and expertise in multiple facets of mental health in both pediatric and adult patients as well as the cross-over with general medicine, chronic illness and developmental disabilities given her training in General Pediatrics. Dr. Alonso has worked on cases including professional impairment, disability, sexual & physical abuse, other trauma, adverse treatment outcomes, sexual offenders and adolescent culpability. She has evaluated criminal defendants for competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility and also provided treatment to incarcerated populations.
